Here are the top five stories today in Cumming:

  2. Cumming was recently ranked one of the best school districts in Georgia. Cumming was ranked third on the list, placing only behind Buford and Watkinsville. The list was compiled by Stacker using data from Niche. (KPVI News 6)
  3. Multiple University of Georgia freshman football pass catchers are earning early praise in training camp. One of which is Oscar Delp of Cumming, Georgia† The tight end is currently making a name for in the locker room and could have a positive impact as a freshman this season. (WSB Radio)
  4. University of North Carolina Women’s Softball team is adding Tennessee transfer Bailey McCachren† McCachren is a pitcher who in her sophomore season made 18 appearances in the circle and started eight games for the Lady Vols. In 40.1 innings of work, she tallied 24 strikeouts, finishing the season with a 5-2 record and a 4.14 ERA. McCachren is from Cumming and is the daughter of Brandy and Brian McCachren. (UNC Athletics)

The Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce has released an important message to its members. “It has come to our attention that an organization has been soliciting chamber members in an effort to garner advertising revenue for their business. They are stating they received your information from the Chamber and possibly implying that the Chamber is involved in their initiative in some way We are not currently working or partnering with any organization that would be contacting you on our behalf.” Read the full quote on their Facebook page.
